The only round to be held in Europe was held at the Assen circuit in Holland for round 10 of the British Motostar Championship.
It is four years since Andy was last at Assen when he won the GP250 European Cup so the circuit holds fond memories.
Practice and Qualifying saw mixed conditions leaving the grid positions being set in the first Qualifying session, unfortunally the set up was not right at this time so Andy would have work to do starting as the sixth fastest 125.
Race one was held in dry conditions, with the set up improved Andy was showing his speed at Assen and was making his way through the field of 125’s. Unfortunately at the half way stage of the race the bike developed a miss fire that would see Andy drop back to finish in 4th place at the finish.
Sunday again saw mixed conditions that would stop the race after four laps while Andy was again showing he had the pace to challenge for the win. The re-start saw Andy have to start from the back of the grid because of a technical issue with the rain light stopped him from taking his place on the grid after the sighting lap. The re-run was only held over six laps and Andy was only able to climb up to seventh place with one lap to go, unfortunately the conditions caught Andy out and he crashed on the final lap.
Andy was fine after the crash and the bike will be ready for the 11th round at Silverstone where Andy will look to get back in to 2nd place in the Championship.
