Andy and the team were unable to test at Anglesey before the meeting because of time commitments so the 10 minute free practice on Saturday morning was used to check settings ready for race one.
The weather could only be described as awful with high winds and rain battering the circuit all day Saturday. Race one was run in some of the worst conditions for years, Andy settled down and got up to second place going in to the last lap, unfortunately the wind unsettled Andy and he dropped back to 5th at the flag which was a little disappointing but in the conditions it was just nice to finish.
Race two on Saturday was not run because the weather got a little worse and the organisers cancelled the remainder of the days events.
Sunday saw the wind continue but thankfully the rain stopped leaving a dry track making it safe to race. A second row start saw Andy straight into the lead group and soon at the front of the field on the second lap, then with a clear track Andy was able to pull clear to win the race with the fastest lap and a 2.5 second winning margin.
Race two on Sunday again saw Andy soon at the front of the field and pulling clear to win with a good 2 second winning margin and the fastest lap. The weekends results has enabled Andy to close the points gap a little in the championship, currently sitting third.
The next round is at the Donington Park Classic festival in August, this is one of the biggest classic events in the UK and one the team look forward to on the fast and flowing ciruit.Round Statistics:
