October brought cold and mixed conditions to the Northamptonshire circuit, this was to play its part in the final championship round on Saturday. In wet conditions, race one became a tough fight for the top three places. As was becoming typical of the championship, tactics were needed to be in the right place at the right time, Andy got this right and took the win with a penultimate corner pass on two riders to take the win by 0.224 of a second.
Race two saw very mixed conditions. Andy got disconnected early on from the main group and struggled with the conditions, unfortunately the 6 th place finish was not enough and Andy lost the Championship by 6 points.
Race of the year was held in dry conditions on Sunday, and really was to be race of the year. A race long battle ensued with six riders covered by less than a second for most of the race. Andy decided early on that breaking away was not going to happen, so, sitting in the group was the sensible thing to do. Andy had a plan for the final lap, but, unfortunately because of the tightness of the pack, Andy missed the last lap flag and finished 4 th at the flag, less than 0.3 from the win.Round Statistics:
